-- President Muhammadu Buhari has told the United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, that Nigeria will welcome intermediaries from the global body in swapping the over 200 abducted Chibok schoolgirls with Boko Haram prisoners, according to a presidential statement. (Daily Trust)

-- To fast track Nigeria's recovery from economic recession, some Senators on Wednesday urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sack or redeploy some of his ministers, who are currently saddled with the onerous task of managing the economy.

Specifically, the legislators want the Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun and her counterpart in the Ministry of Budget and Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma, relieved of their duties or redeployed to other ministries where they could be more competent and productive. (Vanguard)
