Feature: China's railway exhibitors charm Berlin's InnoTrans fair

About 150 Chinese exhibitors have gathered at the Berlin railway industry fair InnoTrans, the world's leading trade fair, to showcase their locomotives, wagons, other railway vehicles, as well as their latest rail and traffic technology.

China is the first country in the world which has built up a hight speed railway network with the longest route length in service, the most comprehensive technologies and the most widely-covered operation management expertise, said Zhou Li, spokesperson of China Railway Corp. during a press conference at the fair.

The high speed railway (HSR) in China has been developing very fast and achieved remarkable success. Currently, the route length of HSR has exceeded 20,000 km, accounting for over 60 percent of the world's total, according to Li.

China railway express (CRE), which refers to the intermodal container block train that operates between China and Europe and through the countries related with the Belt and Road initiative, operates now at regular time with fixed train number, travel period and on fixed track, as he reported.

Under the framework of the Belt and Road initiative, China's railway industry aims to further develop its international transport corridors, promoting the interconnectivity with neighboring countries, said Li, adding that it also seeks to build an array of modern transport hubs that integrate passenger transport and freight transport.

The China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC), the world's leading railway manufacturer, is present at the rail industry fair in Berlin for the first time.

Under the theme of "Connect the world with you", CRRC also brought their latest products of high-speed train, passenger and freight locomotives, city rail vehicles as well as intelligent system to Berlin.

"Whatever the European rail customers and the passengers want in the future, we can offer," said Jilian Yang, representing the CRRC this year at the rail industry fair.

"We would not only look at Europe, but the entire world," said Yang.

A total of 2,950 exhibitors from 60 countries and regions are represented at the biennial InnoTrans fair, which will be held from Sept. 20 to 23 this year. Endit
