Vietnamese party chief joins Police's Party Central Committee for 1st time

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong was for the first time named in the Central Committee of the Police's Party in 2015-2020 tenure.

According to an announcement by the CPV Politburo on Wednesday, the Police's Party Central Committee has 16 members. Its seven-member standing board includes Trong, Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang and the country's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, reported Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Trong asked each member of the Police's Party Central Committee to "bravely tackle difficulties and challenges, stay tough, and be responsible." Endit
