Chinese vice premier calls for solid efforts to upgrade manufacturing industry

Vice Premier Ma Kai on Monday called for more integration of informationization and industrialization to upgrade the manufacturing industry.

Ma made the remarks at the opening of a seminar on integration of manufacturing and the Internet at the Chinese Academy of Governance.

More should be done to drive new growth and develop the new economy to move the manufacturing sector up the value chain, said Ma.

He called for acceleration of innovation-driven development and the establishment of a new intelligent manufacturing model, featuring network collaboration and customization.

Ma suggested scaling up the manufacturing sector to include developing industrial big data, nurturing talent and advancing the industrial Internet. Endi
