CPC publicity chief stresses honoring role models

The publicity chief of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday called for finding and honoring role models to promote the development of socialist core values.

While addressing the 12th forum on the morality of Chinese citizens, Liu Qibao, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, highlighted the importance of role models, adding that the telling of their stories and learning from them is significant to developing socialist core values.

Socialist core values emphasize prosperity, democracy, civility, harmony, freedom, equality, justice, rule of law, patriotism, dedication to work, integrity and amity.

Liu stressed finding and rewarding role models who have contributed a lot and are influential and recognized by the public.
