Local golfer Joost Luiten claimed his second win at the KLM Dutch Open after a course-record equaling round of 63 in the final round on Sunday.

Luiten entered the fourth day of the tournament as joint third, three strokes behind the Australian leader Scott Hend. Thanks to 10 birdies and a round of 63 at the The Dutch golf course the 30-year-old Dutchman left behind all his competitors with a total of 265 (-19) and excited the home crowd in Spijk, in the province of Gelderland.

Austrian Bernd Wiesberger finished second after a round of 65 and a total of 268 strokes (-16), three strokes behind the winner. South Korea's Byeong-hun An finished third with a final round of 65 and a total of 271. Hend (-12) dropped to a joint fourth position.

Luiten also won the Dutch Open in 2013, then at the Kennemer golf course in Zandvoort. He became the first Dutch player to win his national Open twice since it joined the European Tour in 1972. He booked his fifth European Tour win in total. Enditem
