Spain's industrial production falls by 5.2 pct in July

Spain's industrial production fell by 5.2 percent in July, compared with the same month in 2015, official figures showed Friday.

Production of consumer goods fell by 6 percent in July year-on-year, with production of durable consumer goods falling by 7.9 percent and production of non-durable consumer goods falling by 5.8 percent, according to the Index of Industrial Production (IPI) published by Spain's Statistical Office (INE).

Production of capital goods fell by 6.5 percent in July, production of intermediate goods decreased by 4.7 percent and production of energy fell by 3.4 percent, the INE reported.

Spain's industrial production had been rising for three consecutive months before falling in July. It rose by 8.8 percent in April, by 3.9 percent in May and by 0.9 percent in June. Endit
