Putin, Erdogan discuss Russian-Turkish cooperation

The Russian and Turkish presidents, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, discussed bilateral ties and the situation in Syria by phone Thursday evening, said the Kremlin.

"Special attention was given to the situation in Syria, with agreement reached to continue active contact at various levels to coordinate efforts in assisting a Syrian settlement," it said.

The telephone conversation took place at the Turkish side' s initiative. Endit
