Hertha Berlin extend contract with manager Preetz

Xinhua, September 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

Hertha Berlin have extended the contract with manager Michael Preetz, the "Hauptstadtclub" said via the club's official homepage on Thursday.

The former German international and Berlin striker extended his current contract, stipulated until summer 2017, to June 2019.

"We look forward to continue our collaboration with Michael Preetz, who will develop Hertha Berlin successfully in the next years," club president Werner Gegenbauer said.

The 49-year-old manager, who played from 1996 until 2003 for Berlin, is the club's record top scorer with 93 goals. After his professional career he directly joined Berlin's management.

After two relegations into the second division, Hertha Berlin were able to stay in the top flight after completing the last season on the 7th place of the Bundesliga standings.
