International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde on Monday called the just-concluded Group of 20 (G20) summit "a very successful meeting," and said that the IMF looks forward to implementing the agreements reached at the summit.

Speaking at a press conference after the last session of the G20 summit, Lagarde congratulated China for its leadership of the G20 this year and its excellent organization of the leaders' meeting in the scenic eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou. (China-IMF-G20)

HANGZHOU -- British Prime Minister Theresa May said Monday that relations between Britain and China remain in a "golden era."

"I've been clear that we will be continuing the global strategic partnership with China. It is a golden era of the relations between China and the United Kingdom," May said in a press conference shortly after the closing of the 11th Group of 20 (G20) summit in this eastern Chinese city.

MACAO -- The fifth Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries will be held here on Oct. 11-12, the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government said on Tuesday.

Sponsored by the Chinese central government and hosted by the government of Macao SAR, the forum was created in Macao in 2003, with participation of seven Portuguese-speaking countries -- Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and Timor-Leste.

WASHINGTON -- A massive flash mob highlighting Chinese and U.S. cultural marks was performed on the Ellipse lawn in front of the White House, in celebration of the 2016 China-U.S. Tourism Year.
