The following are the highlights of Zambia's major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- The Zambian government said it was happy that the rule of law has prevailed following the dismissal of a petition challenging the re-election of President Edgar Lungu by the Constitutional Court.

On Monday, the court dismissed the petition filed by the main opposition United Party for National Development challenging the re-election of Lungu, saying the 14-day period on which it was supposed to be heard expired last Friday. The opposition party has however rejected the ruling and is currently consulting lawyers on the next action. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa has pledged to utilize all efforts to promote and consolidate cooperation with Zambia in order to enhance social and economic development in the southern African nation.

Sidi Ould Tah, the bank's director-general said the bank will ensure that the cooperation with Zambia, which have blossomed over the years are enhanced in the coming years. (Daily Nation)

-- Zambia's main mobile phone service operator, MTN Zambia, has expressed concern over the poor performance of the national soccer team which has failed to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The mobile phone operator, the sponsor of the national team said the performance of the team reveals that there was more that needs to be done to get positive results. (Times of Zambia) Endit
