Annual Bled Strategic Forum kicks off in Slovenia

The Slovenian-hosted Bled Strategic Forum (BSF)started on Monday, bringing debates and meetings in two days focused to security.

The foreign policy event this year features about 700 participants from 70 countries or regions and senior representatives of international organisations and NGOs.

During the event held at Lake Bled, some 55 km northwest to the capital city of Ljubljana, a dozen of panel debates will be held as part of the core event and the business segment, Business BSF, covering diverse issues such as water security, energy, radicalization, the media image of terrorism, and tourism security.

The main event on Monday will be a leaders' panel featuring Slovenian President Borut Pahor, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, and Canadian Speaker of the Senate George Furey, according to Slovenian Press Agency.

Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar and Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec will deliver welcome addresses o Monday afternoon, with the keynote provided by Michael Moller, director-general of the UN office in Geneva. Endit
