The following are news highlights in South African major media outlets on Monday.

-- The organizers of the campaign to occupy Luthuli House, headquarters of the ruling African National Congress (ANC) on Monday, said they have heard of threats of violence against the planned protest but insist their march will be peaceful. The protest is aimed at pushing pressure on Luthuli House to recall President Jacob Zuma. (Business Day)

-- Police will be out in full force ahead of a planned march on African National Congress (ANC) headquarters, Luthuli House, on Monday.

Law enforcement agencies say they will use razor wired barricade to block the vicinity of Luthuli house. Road closures will add to the measures police are taking. (South African Broadcasting Corporation)

-- The ANC Women's League (ANCWL) has questioned the "sudden interest" from several quarters in protecting Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.

"If you are a member of the ANC and are being called to account, you must just go and account, like the issue of the finance minister. We are very much worried about the sudden interest of everybody, NGO's and civil society protecting the minister of finance," ANCWL secretary general Meokgo Matuba said on Sunday. (News24) Enditem
