Fiscal support to aid elementary, vocational education

Xinhua, September 3, 2016 Adjust font size:

China's central government has paid 92.7 billion yuan (about 13.9 billion U.S. dollars) to local governments to support elementary and vocational education.

According to the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the funds will be used to develop pre-school education, improve vocational education in rural and poor areas, and to train teachers in villages.

The funds will also be channeled to schools for the disabled.

In addition, the MOF and the Ministry of Education have decided to exempt registered senior high school students with financial difficulties from tuition fees from this term. Endi
