British FTSE 100 down 0.58 pct on Wednesday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday closed at 6781.51 points, down 39.28 points or 0.58 percent.

Share price of Berkeley Group Holdings increased by 2.97 percent to top the gainers of the blue chips. Other best performers included TUI AG (2.31 percent), Tesco (1.87 percent), Barclays (1.83 percent), and Standard Life (1.67 percent).

Fresnillo led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 4.97 percent, followed by BHP Billiton (4.86 percent), Anglo American (4.61 percent), Antofagasta Holdings (3.28 percent), and Randgold Resources (2.85 percent). Endit
