Number of tourists in BiH increases in first half of this year

Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH) received 505,991 tourists in the first six months of this year, an increase of over 8 percent, compared with the same period last year, local media reported on Tuesday.

According to BiH Agency for Statistics, during the period, tourists have made 1,016,778 overnight stays, which is 6.9 percent more than that of last year.

Overnight stays of domestic tourists increased by 0.8 percent and those of foreign tourists by 10.4 percent. Among the overnight stays of foreign tourists, tourists from Croatia have made the most in the first six months (14.5 percent). They are followed by tourists from Turkey (11.1 percent), Serbia (10.9 percent), Italy (6.3 percent), and Slovenia (6.1 percent).

In terms of the length of stay, the first place was taken by South Africa with 5.6 overnight stays, followed by Ireland with 3.7, Kuwait with 3.1 and Malta with three overnight stays. Endit
