Restaurant uses glass skywalk to attract visitors

Xinhua, August 30, 2016 Adjust font size:

A restaurant in central China has installed a glass-bottom dining area that hugs a cliff to attract visitors.

The restaurant in Shiniuzhai, Pingjiang County of Hunan Province, built the 180-meter-long, 300-meter-high platform and has opened it to the public, Shiniuzhai scenic area committee announced Tuesday.

The mid-air dining venue offers diners the opportunity to enjoy a unique meal surrounded by cloud-shrouded mountainous views, according to the committee.

Earlier this month, the world's longest and highest glass bridge opened in Zhangjiajie City, also in Hunan, setting 10 world records.

Paved with 99 panes of three-layer transparent glass, the 430-meter-long, 6-meter-wide bridge hangs between two mountains and is perched 300 meters above the ground. A maximum of 8,000 visitors are allowed to use the bridge every day. Endi
