Iran's Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the deadly bomb attack in Iraq's Karbala province which claimed the lives of 15 people, semi-official Mehr news agency reported Tuesday.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi expressed sympathy with the families of the victims and the Iraqi government.

"Terrorists who carry out these wicked assaults and slaughter innocent people are fully aware that they are drawing their last breaths in Iraq," Qasemi was quoted as saying.

The Iranian spokesman hoped all people in Iraq would join hands in restoring peace and prosperity to their country.
