The following are the highlights of Zambia's major media outlets on Monday.

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has announced plans to create a ministry specifically dedicated to handle affairs of religion in the next five years of his tenure of office.

Lungu said the move was aimed at encouraging the participation of Christians in politics to overcome the elements of tribalism and violence in the political arena. (TIMES OF ZAMBIA)

-- Zambia's economic outlook is positive although the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth will be registered at a lower rate of three percent in 2016, a top official from Barclays Africa said.

Jeffrey Gable, the bank's head of research said it has been a very difficult period not only for Zambia but the sub-Saharan African region in general but noted that economic outlook was positive. (ZAMBIA DAILY MAIL)

-- A former minister has urged the Zambian government to take urgent steps to revive a corridor which was launched six years ago to promote and enhance trade and economic activities in Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique.
