7 killed, 12 injured in car crash in eastern Myanmar

Seven people were killed and 12 others injured in a passenger car crash Saturday morning near Nantohn village in Thibaw township of Myanmar's easternmost Shan state, a local police official said.

With 30 people including drivers and conductors on board, the vehicle which was on route of Nay Pyi Taw- Lashio crashed and overturned due to a slip on the road caused by heavy rainfall, according to the official.

A total of 2,229 people were killed in road accidents across Myanmar in the first half of 2016, according to Myanmar Police Force. Endit
