Brazil striker Gabriel close to Inter Milan move

Xinhua, August 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

Brazil international striker Gabriel Barbosa has arrived in Italy to complete a 25-million-euro move to Inter Milan, local media reported on Friday.

The Serie A giants beat off strong competition from Juventus to sign the 19-year-old Santos prodigy, Brazil's Gazeta Esportiva said.

Gabriel is seen as one of Brazilian most promising strikers, having scored 57 goals in 155 matches since making his first-team debut for Santos in 2013.

He has been capped four times for Brazil, scoring twice.

The forward was also part of Brazil's gold medal-winning Olympic football team in Rio earlier this month.

Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea were also reportedly interested in Gabriel, who is also known by his nickname, Gabigol. Endit
