British FTSE 100 down 0.28 pct on Thursday

The FTSE 100 Index, Britain's benchmark stock market gauge closed at 6816.90 points, down 18.88 points or 0.28 percent on Thursday.

The share price of CRH increased by 2.88 percent to top the gainers of the blue chips. Other best performers included Marks & Spencer Group (2.63 percent), Sky (1.63 percent), Ashtead Group (1.37 percent), and WPP (1.29 percent).

Hikma Pharmaceuticals led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 3.50 percent, followed by Dixons Carphone (3.28 percent), Hammerson (2.79 percent), Taylor Wimpey (2.61 percent), and Glencore (2.58 percent). Endit
