Singapore stocks close 0.26 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 7.36 points, or 0.26 percent, to close at 2,876.93.

A total of 713.1 million shares changed hands with turnover of 717.7 million Singapore dollars (529.7 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 211 to 169, while 532 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 19.14 points, or 0.67 percent, to close at 2,869.57 on Wednesday. Endit
