Afghan forces kill 7 militants in northern Kunduz, clash continues

At least seven militants were killed on Wednesday as clash between government forces and Taliban fighters has been continuing outside provincial capital the Kunduz city, said Inspector General of police in Kunduz province, Mohammad Qasim Jangalbagh.

The government forces backed by aircrafts, according to the official, have killed seven insurgents in Zarkharid village outside Kunduz city and are chasing militants in Alchin and Shir Khan port areas.

Taliban militants who have challenged government forces and have gained grounds in several districts of Kunduz province are yet to make comment on the situation.

Clashes between Taliban and government forces have claimed scores of lives over the past month besides forcing hundreds of families to leave for safer places. Enditem
