Xinhua, August 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

Three Taliban militants fell prey to a mine planted by themselves on a road as their motorbike ran over the explosive device in the eastern Ghazni province on Tuesday, provincial police chief Aminullah Omarkhil said.

"Three Taliban rebels were killed as a mine planted by them went off and struck their motorbike, killing the entire trio on the spot," Omarkhil told Xinhua.

The incident occurred at 10:00 a.m. local time in Andar district where Taliban insurgents are active, the official added.

Taliban militants who are largely relying on suicide and roadside bombings haven't commented. Enditem
