Nigeria plans to win more medals at the forthcoming Paralympics in Brazil, an official said Monday, as athletes gradually round off preparations for the games.

Ahead of the games scheduled to hold in Rio from Sept. 7 to 18, the Nigerian Paralympic athletes appear set to make their country proud, President of the Nigeria Paralympics Committee, Monday Emoghawve told reporters in Abuja.

He said preparation for the games was challenging at the beginning but the athletes have garnered both financial and mental supports to win medals at the games.

"We have never disappointed before and we will not disappoint in Brazil," he said.

At the London games in 2012, Nigeria won 13 medals comprising six gold, five silver and two bronze. Endit
