Taliban commander among 4 killed in eastern Afghan province

Four militants, including a key Taliban commander, were killed in eastern Ghazni province on Monday, said the Interior Ministry.

According to the ministry, Taliban commander Mullah Abdul Khaliq along with his fighters attacked police checkpoints in Andar district early Monday and police retaliated, killing four rebels including their commander Mullah Khaliq on the spot.

The infamous Mullah Khaliq was responsible for plotting terrorist attacks against security forces and his death would deal a major blow to the Taliban fighters in Ghazni province.

The Taliban has yet to make comment. Enditem
