Barca "principally" confirm deal to sell keeper Bravo to Manchester City

FC Barcelona's Director of Sport, Roberto Fernandez, confirmed on Saturday that his side is on the verge of selling goalkeeper Claudio Bravo to Manchester City.

Fernandez posted a tweet shortly after Bravo helped Barca win 6-2 at home over Betis that the club had the "principal of an agreement" to sell him to Manchester City, in the charge of former Barca boss Pep Guardiola.

"We need to sign a new goalkeeper and we are awaiting events this week. When Claudio leaves we hope to have a new goalkeeper," he then confirmed on Catalan TV network TV3.

Reports in Spain indicated that Ajax keeper Jasper Cilleson will be Bravo's replacement and will battle it out with Ter Stegen to be first choice keeper.

Bravo's two years at the Camp Nou Stadium have seen him win eight trophies with this season's Spanish Supercup, which Barca conquered on Wednesday night against Sevilla. Endit
