Morocco attends Beijing book fair to gain impetus for cultural ties

Xinhua, August 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

Morocco will participate in Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), slated for Aug. 24-28, the Moroccan Ministry of Culture said Friday.

The ministry said in a statement that the second consecutive participation is a part of its strategy to open up more to the Chinese culture.

The move comes as a result of new impetus in the relationships between Moroccan publishers and their Chinese counterparts in book making and translation, the statement added.

More than 2,400 publishers from China and abroad will take part in the six-day event.

Launched in 1986, the Beijing International Book Fair, is the third largest book fair in the world, after the Frankfurt Book Fair and the London Book Fair. Endit
