British FTSE 100 index down 0.15 pct on Friday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Friday closed at 6,858.95 points, down 10.01 points or 0.15 percent.

Share price of Lloyds Banking Group increased by 2.54 percent to top the gainers of the blue chips. Other best performers included easyJet (2.50 percent), Morrison (Wm) Supermarkets (1.46 percent), Centrica (1.41 percent), and InterContinental Hotels Group (1.17 percent).

Glencore led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 3.90 percent, followed by Taylor Wimpey (2.54 percent), BHP Billiton (2.05 percent), Ashtead Group (1.87 percent), and Standard Chartered (1.65 percent). Endit
