African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) forces backed by Somalia National Army on Friday killed four Al-Shabaab militants during a security operation in Bula-gudud area in southern Somalia.

AMISOM Force spokesman Joe Kibet told Xinhua that an unknown number of insurgents was wounded during the security operation.

The spokesman added that this is the second successful and well planned operation against Al-Shabaab in Lower Jubba region. He said the operation is still continuing.

The killing came a day after the joint forces killed three Al-Shabaab militants at Abdala Birole location, some 60 kilometers southwest of Kismayo.

Kismayo is the administrative capital of Jubbaland State in Somalia and it is about 500 kilometers south of Mogadishu. Endit
