Singapore stocks close 0.25 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 7.04 points, or 0.25 percent, to close at 2,844.02.

A total of 738.7 million shares changed hands with turnover of 695.5 million Singapore dollars (519 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 222 to 172, while 513 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 6.37 points, or 0.22 percent, to close at 2,836.98 on Thursday. Endit
