Singapore stocks close 0.22 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 6.37 points, or 0.22 percent, to close at 2,836.98.

A total of 755.6 million shares changed hands with turnover of 746.3 million Singapore dollars (556.9 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 223 to 171, while 512 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 15.45 points, or 0.54 percent, to close at 2,843.35 on Wednesday. Endit
