1st LD: Germany arrests man suspected of planning bomb attack: report

German police have arrested a 27-year-old man who allegedly planned a bomb attack later this month, German media reported on Wednesday.

The attack intended to target at the city festival in the eastern German city of Eisenhuttenstadt near the border with Poland. The three-day festival is scheduled for Aug. 26 to 28.

Eisenhuttenstadt has about 30,000 residents. The central reception center for refugees of the federal state of Brandenburg is located there.

Explosives has been found at the suspect's apartment, according to media reports.

The suspect is a German national whose religious background has not been officially confirmed, local police of Frankfurt located on the Oder river said. Endit
