Xinhua, August 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

Three Turkish coast guard were killed on Wednesday morning when their boat capsized in the Bosphorus Strait after crashing into a cargo carrier, Turkish media reported.

All seven crew members were rescued after their boat crashed into the cargo vessel off Istanbul's historic Sarayburnu neighborhood in Fatih district, the Hurriyet daily said.

It said three of them succumbed to their injuries later in hospital.

The cargo vessel dropped anchor off the Sariyer shore in Istanbul, while the traffic in Bosphorus, a key international shipping lane for oil and grain, was suspended for a while, the report said. Endit
