Xinhua, August 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

Australia defeated China 93-68 in a Group A men's basketball match at the Rio Olympics here on Friday, making it to the elimination round.

"We got no pressure for the game, and we really want to play well. But the truth is we were still tight at the beginning, and thought too much throughout the whole game," said Chinese team coach Gong Luming.

Yi Jianlian, formerly played for the Milwaukee Bucks, had a team-high 20 points and 9 rebounds. Guo Ailun finished with 11 points and 5 assists. Ding Yanyuhang and Zou Yuchen grabbed 8 points apiece.

Former Chicago Bulls forward Cameron Bairstow led the Australia with 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting and nine rebounds, followed by Borck Motum with 15 points, Aron Baynes (12) and David Anderson (12).

"Yi Jianlian got going early but we managed to shut him down after that," said Bairstow. Endit
