Germany's benchmark DAX index closes higher

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Tuesday went up and closed at 10,692.9 points.

The blue-chip DAX index rose markedly by 260.54 points, or 2.5 percent. It has gained more than 20 percent since its low level in February.

All the 30 DAX member shares gained.

Muenchener Rueckversicherungs-Gesellschaft, an insurance and reinsurance company, topped the list of risers with an increase of 5.7 percent. Deutsche Lufthansa added 4.5 percent.

Infineon Technologies, a semiconductor producer, advanced by 4.09 percent. Thyssenkrupp climbed by 3.47 percent. Fresenius, a medical care company, went up by 3.44 percent.

Daimler was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 263.94 million euros (around 293 million U.S. dollars) Endit
