Local official investigated for corruption

Former vice governor of southwest China's Sichuan Province, Li Chengyun, has been placed under investigation on suspicion of taking bribes and abuses of power, China's Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said on Friday.

Li is subject to "coercive measures," which may include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention and arrest.
