Singapore stocks close 0.15 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 4.38 points, or 0.15 percent, to close at 2,831.96.

A total of 1.31 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.05 billion Singapore dollars (783.6 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 219 to 175, while 512 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 29.09 points, or 1.02 percent, to close at 2,827.58 on Wednesday. Endit
