Former mayor in E. China under graft investigation

Yang Luyu, former mayor of Jinan, capital of east China's Shandong Province, is under investigation on suspicion of taking bribes, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) announced Thursday.

Yang, also former deputy secretary of Jinan City Committee of the Communist Party of China, has been placed under "coercive measures" which may include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention and arrest, the SPP said.
