Woman in wheelchair detained at Lisbon airport for carrying cocaine

Portugal's judiciary police has detained a woman on a wheelchair at Lisbon's airport for carrying illegal drug cocaine, according to a judiciary police statement issued on Wednesday.

The 40-year old woman was carrying 2.34 kg of cocaine in her wheelchair, police said.

She has attended her first judicial interrogation and was imposed preventive detention, according to the police.

The judiciary police identified and detained the woman through the Portuguese National Unity against Drug Trafficking, in collaboration with the Borders and Frontiers service. The woman was not of Portuguese origin. Endit
