Saudi Arabia said on Monday four people, including a child and a woman, were killed and three others injured in a shelling from Yemen, the official Saudi Press Agency reported.

The attack targeting the border city of Jazan occurred at 13:30 local time (1030 GMT), the report said, adding that the injured were transferred to local hospital for treatment.

Security sources confirmed on Monday to local news Al Arabiya that the joint Saudi forces have been deployed at the Saudi-Yemeni border after an increase in filtration attempts by armed groups from Yemen.

The clashes are part of the Saudi-led coalition strikes against the Houthis in Yemen in support of the elected Yemeni government. Endit
