China's four-time Olympic diving gold medalist Wu Minxia is looking forward to "perfection" in what could be her last Olympic Games in Rio.

"There is only a couple of days left before my competition. I hope I can tune up to my best form and I am looking forward to perfection on my competition day," the 30-year-old Wu said on Monday morning as she arrived at Rio with her teammates after a long journey from China.

"I know I may encounter difficult situations here, including the cold conditions. But I have to accept the difficulties and try to cope with them well," she added.

It will be the fourth time for Wu to compete on the Olympics stage since her debut in 2004, Wu has collected three 3m springboard synchro and one 3m springboard Olympic gold medals. She will take part in the 3m springboard synchro event with teammate Shi Tingmao at the Rio Games.

Zhou Jihong, team leader of the Chinese diving team said the divers will move in the Olympic village on Monday and start training in the afternoon.

"Hopefully, they can adapt to the new atmosphere as soon as possible," Zhou said. Endit
