Indian PM urges nation to embrace technology

Xinhua, July 31, 2016 Adjust font size:

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged people to embrace technology, saying that the future will be driven by technology only.

"The future is going to be technology driven, we need to embrace it... Let us aim to innovate," he said in his monthly radio address to the nation.

Modi also spoke at length about the Atal Innovation Mission (named after former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee), an initiative aimed at promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

"The initiative focuses on serving as a platform for promotion of world-class innovation hubs, start-ups and self-employment activities, particularly in technology driven areas," he said.

"To grow the culture of innovation from grassroots, the government has proposed setting up Tinkering laboratories at the school level under the Atal Innovation Mission." Endit
