Saudi forces kill dozens of Houthi militias in border infiltration attempt

Xinhua, July 30, 2016 Adjust font size:

Saudi forces killed dozens of Houthi militias Saturday at Saudi border city Najran while foiling infiltration attempts in Saudi-Yemeni borders, Al Arabiya local news reported.

The forces, which are leading an Arabic coalition to fight Houthis in Yemen for more than a year, also announced the death of a Saudi officer during the clashes to stop Houthis from entering the Saudi territories.

Last week, the country announced the deaths of five Saudi border guards while preventing similar infiltration attempts by an armed group in Najran during a clash that lasted for eight hours.

The Yemen civil war shows no signs of ending with the failed talks among Yemeni political groups in Kuwait, especially after the formation of a supreme council to run Yemen by the Houthis and ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh's group on Thursday. Endit
