British FTSE 100 rises 0.39 pct on Wednesday

The FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, rose by 0.39 percent, or 26.40 points, to 6,750.43 points on Wednesday.

The share price of Barratt Developments shot up by 6.81 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips.

ITV, Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon and Berkeley Group Holdings likewise increased by 6.76 percent, 6.69 percent, 5.86 percent and 5.27 percent respectively.

Hikma Pharmaceuticals led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 3.03 percent, followed by Mediclinic International (1.75 percent), Provident Financial (1.75 percent), GKN (1.69 percent), and Paddy Power Betfair (1.68 percent). Endit
