China's gold consumption down, production slightly up in 1H

China's gold production rose by 0.16 percent year on year to 229 tonnes in the first half of 2016, while consumption declined 7.68 percent to 529 tonnes.

The majority - 341 tonnes - of consumption went on jewelry, according to the China Gold Association on Tuesday. Endi
