Prosecutors investigate former E. China official

Xinhua, July 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) announced on Wednesday that it has started an investigation of Yang Zhenchao, former vice governor of east China's Anhui Province.

Yang, who was a member on the Anhui Provincial Government's Communist Party of China (CPC) leadership group, "violated the Party's code of conduct in a serious manner," said a statement from the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection on Tuesday.

Yang, who was expelled from the Party and his office on corruption charges, was put under "coercive measures," said a statement from the SPP.
