Central authority launches supervision over local leadership transitions

Xinhua, July 26, 2016 Adjust font size:

China's central authority has begun a round of supervision over local level leadership transition and promotion, Xinhua learned Tuesday.

The Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the CPC's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) dispatched supervision teams to 12 provincial regions including Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Tibet and Xinjiang.

An unidentified official from the CPC Central Committee Organization Department said the supervision teams would push Party committees at all levels to ensure smooth, fair leadership transitions, according to a short statement.

The central authority wants to prevent bribery and other offenses, ensuring the process is clean and fair.

The Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and organization departments at local levels will establish a system to accept offense tip-offs during leadership transitions. Endi
