1st LD: Terrorism link to Ansbach explosion cannot be ruled out: German minister

German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said Monday a terrorism link to the suicide attack in Ansbach could not be ruled out.

De Maiziere told a press conference here that the investigation on the attack outside a music festival on Sunday night, which wounded 12 people, was still ongoing.

It remained unclear whether the attacker, a 27-year-old Syrian denied asylum in Germany, had a terrorism background or had a psychological problem. It could be a combination of both, he added. Enditem
